District honors state-champion girls swim and undefeated boys volleyball teams

The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District recognized two state championship athletic programs during Monday’s board meeting.
The Middleton High School girls swim and dive team earned a third consecutive state title (2023–2025). Coaches Andrew Cotton and Cindy Zacker and the team were acknowledged; freshmen Hannah Jadlowski and Quinn Mazur were singled out for top finishes at the state dive meet.
The Middleton High School boys volleyball team finished an undefeated 39–0 season and won the state championship. Coach Dylan Griffith and players introduced themselves to the board and were praised for their competitiveness and sportsmanship; the program was noted as only the second boys volleyball team in state history to finish undefeated.
Coach Andrea Hotten, who identified herself when the team came forward, said, “I’m Andrea Hotten. I’m the head coach of the team this year.” The board presented certificates and offered congratulations to students, coaches and families.
