The Waukegan Special Finance and Purchasing Committee on Dec. 1 approved a resolution authorizing the purchase and installation of new lockers for Fire Station 1 from Bradford Systems Corporation for an amount not to exceed $115,758.54.
The chair said the purchase will replace the original lockers installed when the station was built and increase the number of lockers from 48 to 51 to accommodate all firefighters assigned to Station 1; two new benches will also be installed. The expenditure is funded from GL code 307-130723665.
Alderman Felix asked which station address was affected; the chair confirmed Station 1 on Belvedere. After a motion by Alderman Martinez and a second from Alderman Bolton, roll call recorded Aldermen Bolton, Felix, Martinez and Newsom voting "Aye," and the motion carried.
The committee handled the item in a single brief exchange; no public comment was taken on the purchase during the meeting. The committee adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
