The Kalispell City Council voted Dec. 15 to approve Resolution 6304, granting a two-year extension to the preliminary plat for Autumn Creek Subdivision, a JCM Development project north of Highway 2 West.
Planning staff said the original preliminary plat was approved Jan. 4, 2021, and that the subdivision has 28 residential sublots across about 8.4 acres. Most site infrastructure is in place, and the developer said the outstanding step was submitting the final plat application and associated documents.
Doug Putmeyer of TDNH Engineering told the council the improvements are completed, staff has approved the subdivision improvement agreement and the developer expects to submit final plat materials within days or weeks. He said the extension was sought because the final plat application requires a 60-day lead time.
Councilor Hunter reiterated earlier concerns about wetland impacts and an adjacent driveway that might have provided access and announced he would vote against the extension for consistency with his prior position. The roll-call vote recorded a majority in favor and the resolution passed.
The extension provides the developer additional time to file final documents under city subdivision regulations; staff indicated the project is close to final plat submission.
