The Tennessee Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors voted to formalize a streamlined course-approval process on Nov. 20, allowing two land-surveyor board members to review and approve course transmittal forms between meetings when both concur. Staff will circulate transmittal sheets and, where two approvals are secured, record the approval and provide an informational listing at the next full board meeting.
Glenn Kopchick, the board's executive director, explained the change as an efficiency measure to reduce the lag that providers face when seeking approval; under the new process, items that two members approve will be treated as final unless a member objects, in which case the course will be referred to the full board. The motion to adopt the procedure passed by voice vote.
Separately, the board voted to award meeting attendees three professional development hours for the session. The PDH vote was approved by voice vote during the meeting.
