Tomball ISD reports A ratings across 2023—2025; campuses increase distinctions

Chief academic officer Doctor Michael Webb presented a three-year accountability review at the board workshop, reporting that Tomball Independent School District received A ratings in 2023, 2024 and 2025 under Texas—a-through-F system.
Webb said the district increased the number of A-rated campuses from 21 to 23 and raised the number of "straight A" campuses from 9 to 15. He also reported more than 65 distinctions awarded to campuses and highlighted domain contributions: student achievement, student progress and closing-the-gap measures that rely on STAAR/STAR, CCMR and graduation data. "For 2025, Tomball ISD received an A rating," Webb said.
Board members described the results as the product of years of work by campus leaders, principals and teachers and urged communications to highlight the academic and financial accomplishments to the community. Trustees also asked for comparative context to show how Tomball ranks against selected comparator districts and requested the district produce materials that make the achievements accessible to parents and prospective families.
Webb and other presenters connected the accountability results to campus- and district-level improvement plans to sustain gains: calibration on extended constructed responses, targeted interventions, and talent development for teachers and leaders. The district will present the formal 25-26 campus and district improvement plans for approval at the Oct. 14 regular meeting.
