The board reviewed a facilities proposal to address sidewalk trip hazards at multiple district campuses, a follow-up to a 2022–23 project.

The director of plant and facilities described Precision Concrete Cutting's approach: a dust-suppressed grinding method to correct trip hazards and limited curb repairs where needed. He said the district had previously partnered with the city on similar work and that most repairs have held well but root and tree movement will continue to cause some sidewalk movement.

Two cost options were included in the packet. The presentation listed Option 1 (ADA-focused, excluding curb repair) addressing 324 trip hazards with a gross price and a GreenTree purchasing-program discount; Option 2 added 74 linear feet of curb repair and produced a higher total after the listed discount. The director noted that some areas recommended for replacement were omitted from the bid because they are slated for replacement through a city project in the next two to three years.

Board members asked about the durability of prior work and whether any portions qualify for city residential sidewalk assistance; the director said he would follow up with city staff about eligibility and return answers to the board. No contract award or binding vote was taken at the meeting; the director said the work could be done in the spring if approved.
