After a closed session held under the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Uvalde CISD board reconvened Dec. 15 and approved a motion to file for amendment of the Mireles v. Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District consent decree.

Trustee Suarez moved "to approve the filing of a motion to amend the consent decree in the Mireles versus Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District as discussed in closed session," and Trustee Flores seconded. The board voted in favor and the motion carried.

The board cited Texas Government Code chapter 551 provisions for the closed-session discussion; the motion was limited to approving the filing as discussed in closed session. The district did not disclose additional details about the content of the amendment in open session.
