TWC accepts $5.1 million in BCY‑26 childcare pledges from seven local boards

Sager told commissioners they were bringing forward 14 BCY‑26 match agreements from seven local workforce boards — Greater Dallas, Lower Rio Grande Valley, North Texas, Northeast Texas, Panhandle, Tarrant County, and Texoma — totaling $5,100,045.
"Boards have secured 12.33% of the statewide childcare local match for BCY '26," Sager said, and staff recommended TWC accept childcare pledges for expenses for BCY 2026 in the amount of $5,100,045. A commissioner moved to approve acceptance of the donations, transfers, and certifications of expenses for BCY 2026 in that amount; the motion was seconded and passed.
The acceptance authorizes TWC to record and accept those local matching funds for BCY‑26 as part of the agency’s childcare funding process; staff said supporting documents include the 14 match agreements specified.
