"On 05/30/2024, the US Department of Labor approved TWC's BOA combined state plan for programs year 2024 to 2027," Jones said, and staff recommended approval to post the proposed WIOA combined state plan modification for a 30‑day public comment period and, if comments do not result in substantive changes, to submit the plan to the Texas Workforce Investment Council.
A commissioner moved to approve posting the two‑year modification for a 30‑day public comment period as recommended by staff; the motion was seconded and recorded as passing.
The action initiates the public‑comment phase required under WIOA; staff said the modification includes updated labor market information, programmatic waivers, and updates to vocational rehabilitation, adult education and literacy, agricultural outreach, and the senior community service employment program.
