Trustees voted Dec. 15 to approve adding a Lifetime Wellness and Health course to the Uvalde CISD course catalog for the 2026–27 school year.

Miss Graber explained the proposed health course responds to recent legislation and updated TEKS and can be offered to students in grades 9–12. "It is a health course with updated TEKS," she said, adding the district already has recent adoptions for health curriculum and the new course could also be used in a career-and-technical-education context.

Trustee Suarez moved and Trustee Flores seconded the motion to add the course. The board voted in favor and the motion carried.

The administration said instructional material adoptions and any fiscal impacts would be handled through the district's instructional materials process.
