Project manager Jenny Burrows asked the board to approve a contract with Butler, Fairman & Seufert (BFS) for survey, engineering and design services to complete the final connection of the city’s bike trail.
Burrows said the contract is for a not-to-exceed amount of $254,400 to survey, prepare design engineering and ready the project for bid. She noted remaining funds from the Veteran Memorial Trail award were used to preserve those funds for this connection and that the project will cut under I-65 and connect to Iowa Street through the tunnel to complete connectivity east of Broadway.
City staff recommended approval based on prior satisfactory performance by BFS; the board moved, seconded and approved the contract.
