A police representative said the department has been coordinating with the financial-crimes unit in Cincinnati and distributed a vehicle description to patrol units. On the camera proposal, the speaker presented a vendor quote of $17,971.29 to install cameras covering the recreation building, community building, council chambers and parking lot, including chamber audio recording and a system with additional ports for future expansion.
The department recommended working with MobileComm, a vendor the village already uses for other camera installations, citing ongoing maintenance and familiarity. Council members asked whether the quoted system accounted for upcoming municipal building renovations; staff said the design included extra ports and provisions to allow cameras to be moved or added when renovation details are finalized.
Council indicated general support to proceed and asked staff to continue coordination; administrators said details would be discussed further at the next meeting or during follow-up sessions.
The proposal did not include a formal procurement vote at this meeting. Staff said they would bring contract or purchase documents forward after clarifying technical requirements and final pricing.
