North College Hill swears in three lateral-transfer officers; new black uniforms introduced

The North College Hill City Council held a swearing-in ceremony for three new police officers during its meeting.
Chief Cheney introduced TJ Johnson (formerly a lieutenant at Elmwood), Sean Watson (a former UCHealth sergeant and criminal-justice instructor) and an officer identified as Alex, noting each brought experience to the department. Mayor Nichols administered the oath.
Sean Watson addressed the room after the oath: "I'm thankful for the opportunity to be here at North College Hill," he said, and spoke about his interest in community policing. Chief Cheney also noted the department has transitioned its uniforms from navy to black with subdued patches and displayed the new attire to the audience.
Council and the mayor welcomed the officers and their family members. The ceremony was held before the council proceeded with the regular agenda.
