Hamilton Township swears in three officers; Eli Kibbe promoted to sergeant

Hamilton Township’s police department introduced three new officers and promoted a detective to sergeant during the trustees’ meeting.
Police leadership presented Hunter Martin, Kyle Connor and Hunter Baer to the board, briefly describing each officer’s background. According to the chief, Martin is a 2022 graduate of Moller High School and a recent graduate of the Great Oaks Police Academy; Kyle Connor completed the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy in 2016 and held prior posts with the Saint Bernard and Wyoming police departments; Hunter Baer graduated from Blanchester High School and also completed the Great Oaks class in October. The chief administered the oath of office and invited family members to pin badges.
The board also recognized the promotion of Officer Eli Kibbe to the rank of sergeant. The chief said Kibbe joined the agency in March 2019, served as a detective, was named the department’s 2022 Employer of the Year, and had demonstrated leadership and professionalism meriting the promotion. Kibbe’s father pinned the sergeant badge.
Separately, the chief asked trustees to recognize Assistant Chief Quillen Short for 20 years of service with the Ohio Narcotic Association of Regional Coordinating Officers (NARCO); staff credited Short with advancing training and organizational standards across the region.
Trustees recessed briefly for family photographs after the swearing-in ceremony.
