Fair Oaks Ranch council advances north-side water-tank project, approves speed-limit reductions in first reading

The speaker said the city purchased three acres at the northern-most turn on Hammond Road toward Boerne; Boerne is also installing ground storage tanks at the site. “We still plan to move forward with building an elevated storage tank or water tower to support the north end of the city,” the Unidentified Speaker said.
In traffic-safety business, the council approved a first reading to reduce speed limits on Silver Spur and Post Oak Trail from 35 mph to 30 mph; staff said the council will return on Dec. 4 for final approval. A separate prior agenda item to lower the speed limit on Nola Aceh from 30 mph to 25 mph was previously referred to the Transportation Safety Advisory Committee and has been requested back to council for a decision.
The council also approved the appointment of a new municipal court prosecutor (name not specified in the transcript) and gave final approval to a citywide compensation study reviewing staff pay. The transcript did not include vote tallies or the prosecutor’s name.
City staff announced the Dec. 18 council meeting had been canceled and that the next scheduled meetings were Dec. 4 and, after the winter break, Jan. 18. The transcript contains an internal inconsistency: at one point the speaker states the Dec. 18 meeting was canceled and elsewhere says the next opportunity for public comment would be Dec. 18. The council did not provide a further clarification in the recorded recap.
Next steps: final adoption of the Silver Spur and Post Oak Trail speed-limit changes is expected at the Dec. 4 meeting; engineering and contract work on the north-side storage tank will proceed as approved by the council’s engineering contract.
