The Medical Lake City Council opened a public hearing on Ordinance 1138 — the 2026 final budget — and took its first reading on Dec. 2.
Finance/administrative staff provided a brief overview noting the presented packet replaces the preliminary budget binder and includes the mayor's budget, an organization chart, committee/board listings, a budget guide and the draft ordinance. Staff said the data in the document remained consistent with the preliminary figures while materials and organization had been updated for council and public review.
After three calls for public comment with no speakers, a councilmember moved to accept the first reading of Ordinance 1138; the motion carried. Staff said the council will review the final ordinance language in later proceedings and that printed copies and an online posting are available for public inspection.
Council discussion at the hearing was limited; staff noted that subsequent meetings will include a more thorough review as needed before final adoption.
