Tabitha's Way food pantry asks Santaquin council for volunteers and reports increased need

Santaquin — During the public forum on Dec. 2, Jan Gordon, representing Tabitha's Way food pantry (based in the area), gave an update on service levels and asked for volunteers to help with holiday meal distributions.
Gordon reported the pantry served 321 households in July through September (1,184 individuals) and said October brought 194 new households registering for pantry assistance. She said the pantry distributed 650 complete Thanksgiving meals in November in partnership with Nebo School District and social workers, and that the pantry plans to distribute 600 Christmas meals via vouchers coordinated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and local relief society leaders; Santaquin was allocated 22+ meals for local pickup with additional extras available.
Gordon described a "Shop and Drop" program with donation bins at five retail locations and asked the council and community members to sign up to volunteer; she also requested Spanish-speaking volunteers for distribution. Council members thanked Gordon and encouraged participation.
The update was presented during the public forum; no formal council action was required.
