Santaquin approves participation in America250 anniversary committee

Staff described the resolution as largely ceremonial but helpful for accessing small grants and coordinating local events for July 4, 2026. Community Services Director John Bradley (referenced by staff) recommended a five-member advisory committee composed of three community services representatives and two members of the historic preservation committee to avoid creating a quorum of any single advisory body.
Staff estimated any direct funding to Santaquin would be modest (on the order of about $1,000) but said that participation would allow the city to pursue small event grants and coordinate with county and state organizers. Council moved, seconded and approved Resolution 12-02 without amendment.
