Vice President Snipes moved that the board go into closed session "for the protection of the public interest and for the prevention of needless injury to the reputation of individuals" to discuss negotiations, personnel matters and legal advice with the superintendent, the board secretary, chief of staff Shane Ryan, Colette Niro and legal counsel. The motion was seconded and passed by a 7–0 roll call. The record shows the board entered closed session at 6:52 p.m., exited at 8:41 p.m., and adjourned at 8:42 p.m.
