After entering closed session under MCL 15.268 to discuss collective bargaining, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners ratified a tentative agreement reached with the POAM road deputies unit covering the period Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2027.

The board authorized the chair to sign the successor collective-bargaining agreement upon approval as to form by the county's legal counsel. The ratification vote passed by voice vote following the closed-session discussion; the chair was authorized to execute the agreement once counsel reviews form and approvals are complete.
