The West Bend Community Memorial Library Board approved the Nov. 18 consent agenda after board members asked questions about individual expenditure lines and vendor invoices.
Speaker 1 and others queried Brandt laundry/lawn-care charges and Speaker 4 explained the multiple charges resulted from late billing cycles. Speaker 1 raised questions about a Fond du Lac Children’s Museum pass and requested staff produce a listing of fees paid to Monarch after noting recent monthly payments of nearly $8,500 and about $10,000 in the previous month.
Speaker 3 reported financial details including a $150 donation, $39 in money-market interest and 13 cents in program checking, and confirmed a check had been written for an 'Amazing Animals' program. Speaker 3 later clarified that the $150 donation listed in the packet was anonymous, not from Early Risers Kiwanis, and said he would correct the record.
The consent agenda passed on a motion and voice vote with no opposition recorded. The board also discussed camera vendor arrangements (Rescue Dog Technologies), noting two cameras had been nonfunctional and have been addressed, and that dispatch has live viewing of cameras subject to library records policy and warrant requirements.
Board members asked staff to prepare an annualized listing of fees paid to Monarch so the board can see total annual costs for services; staff agreed to return that information at a future meeting.
