Cressfield detailed his schooling in the city, saying he attended Heard Elementary School, Gerard Junior High School and graduated from Northview High School. He said he earned a degree in general management from the University of Alabama and later received an MBA from Troy University in Dothan.
He spoke about his family, saying he has been married to his wife, Sonya, for nearly 40 years, has two grown children (one of whom is married) and two grandchildren ages 5 and 6. He added that his youngest son currently lives out of town and he hopes the son will return so the family can be together.
On his reasons for running, Cressfield said, “I ran for elected office because of my love for Dothan,” and described prior volunteer work as a motivating factor. He framed his commission service as an opportunity to help residents and to “make Dothan the best place that it could be.”
