The Somers Point City Council approved a series of resolutions Dec. 17, recording motions, seconds and unanimous approvals where noted.
Resolution No. 259 approved the appointment of Robert C. Summers as chief of police for the city. The council president announced a recusal from the vote, stating he has family employed as police officers; the resolution passed with roll-call voice approval as recorded in the meeting.
Resolution No. 260 authorized change order No. 2 to increase costs on a previously rebid pump station force-main replacement contract (final contract No. 13); the council moved, seconded and approved the change order as described by the clerk.
Resolution No. 261 authorized an amendment to an interlocal agreement between Atlantic County and the city concerning pedestrian improvements within the Shore Road right-of-way. Staff said the county seeks to use the city's contractor to expedite repair of collapsing county-owned storm drains at Maryland and Shore roads; the county will reimburse the city for the contractor work and there is no cost to Somers Point.
Resolution No. 262 approved a budget appropriation transfer. The council also approved the consent agenda and authorized payment of the bills as recorded.
