Scott County Fiscal Court voted to approve an early closeout and drawdown of federal broadband grant funds contingent on approval by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)/NTIA financial-assistance office (FAAMO).

Staff noted the county’s partner CTC Technology assisted with administration and that administrative work has been substantial. The requested drawdown would pay Charter $765,600 and reimburse Scott County $61,600 for grant administration costs; staff said the action would not require general fund dollars. The approval is conditional on NTIA/NIST signoff.

A motion to approve the early closeout and drawdown was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said they would proceed with the closeout process pending federal approval and record the action in the minutes.
