The Kings Park Board of Education approved on Dec. 9 a financing lease for the district’s fourth energy performance contract, as recommended by district staff.
Niamh presented the resolution, which the administration said will deliver energy savings through solar carports and lighting improvements and will fund the purchase and installation of two new boilers at RGL. "This resolution approves the financing lease for our fourth energy performance contract, which will bring energy savings to the district resulting from solar carports and lighting," Niamh said.
The board called the motion, and the transcript records affirmative votes. During the roll call a pair of "No" responses were also recorded; the transcript does not name which board members cast those votes.
The administration said the project will also include lighting upgrades and that financing terms and vendor details are part of the contract documents approved through the resolution. Final implementation steps, schedule and anticipated energy savings figures were not fully detailed in the public remarks recorded in the meeting.
