Police evidence building addition in use but awaiting final HVAC code component, staff says

Dalton's public-safety evidence and property storage addition is in operational use following late-summer completion, but staff said a code-required direct outside air HVAC component remains outstanding so the project is not yet recorded as 100% complete.
City staff reported completion of the Police Property & Evidence building addition, a 7,200-square-foot expansion with approximately 3,000 evidence storage bays, a new evidence-processing lab and a vehicular bay to evaluate vehicles. Andrew Parker said the facility has been in use since late summer but is not considered fully complete because a direct outside air HVAC component remains to meet code.
Parker stressed the value of the building for secure long-term storage of evidence and said other jurisdictions had contacted Dalton to learn from the project's approach. The project otherwise provides new workspaces and ventilation for the safe processing and storage of items such as controlled substances and other evidence.
