He said staff are still developing ideas and venues but recommended using vault items and historical photos for displays. While staff had previously discussed an allocation of $5,000, a council member moved to increase the authorization to $10,000; the motion was seconded and passed 3–0.
Council members discussed keeping the event modest and possibly using City Hall so staff could manage logistics; they also suggested ongoing celebratory presence at other community events through 2026. Staff will finalize event details, coordinate donor contributions and report implementation steps back to council as needed.
