The budget amendment primarily moves countywide communications sales-tax expenditures (the 800-radio purchase tied to the communications project) and a modest parks-and-recreation distribution from 2024 into 2025 because vendor timing delayed purchases into the new fiscal year. Finance staff said the change preserves overall project cost but requires a formal hearing on the amended 2025 budget authority.
The commission recessed for a 15-minute executive session for attorney-client consultation under KSA 75-4319(b)(2) and later returned to open session; no substantive public action was announced from the executive session. The meeting then adjourned.
