The Griggs County Commission discussed its 2026 meeting calendar on Nov. 24 and agreed to continue holding two regular meetings per month, broadly favoring Monday mornings. Staff asked commissioners for preferences on day and start time; commissioners debated an earlier start (9:00 a.m.) to finish sooner versus staff’s preference for a 9:30 a.m. start to reduce preparation strain.
Several commissioners said earlier times help them complete work afterward; staff said 9:30 a.m. reduces administrative burden. The group agreed to try Monday mornings at 9:30 for one year and directed staff to bring a formal schedule to the next meeting for approval.
The commission also confirmed that the tax-budget hearing will be set for 4:30 p.m. and will be folded into the regular budget hearing schedule. No formal vote was required to direct staff to prepare the calendar; the commission approved adding the item to the agenda and will vote on a presented schedule at the following meeting.
