Guthrie board awards wrestling-facility contracts, accepts Crossland GMP
Summary
The Guthrie Public Schools Board approved bids and accepted an initial guaranteed maximum price for a new Guthrie High School wrestling facility, awarding the pre-engineered metal building to Red Dot Buildings for $224,089 and approving a GMP amendment with Crossland Construction Company.
The Guthrie Public Schools Board of Education on Nov. 10 approved contracts and a guaranteed maximum price to move forward with construction of a new wrestling facility at Guthrie High School.
The board voted to award Bid Package 13A for a pre-engineered metal building to Red Dot Buildings for $224,089. ‘‘This dollar amount for this line item was lower than the budget,’’ said a district staff member involved in the project, noting the district had budgeted $260,002.60 for that line item. Board members approved the award by roll call, seven ayes and zero nays.
The board also voted to accept the initial guaranteed maximum price proposed by Crossland Construction Company and approved an initial GMP amendment to the construction management contract dated Oct. 13, 2025. Administration told the board the GMP documentation itemizes the approved bid and associated costs and recommended approval. The motion passed on a roll-call vote, seven ayes and zero nays.
Board discussion included confirmation that some correction items remain at the Conroe and Charter Oak sites and that bids for additional work (including the high school wrestling room) will open Nov. 19. The district identified Red Dot Buildings as the low bidder for the metal building; the company’s location was stated as Texas in the meeting record.
Next steps include formal contract execution and project management under the Crossland GMP and the scheduled bid openings for remaining work. Funding lines, full project budget and construction timeline details were discussed in packet materials referenced during the meeting but not read into the public record.
