Parma City School Board approves a slate of routine resolutions and accepts community donations

In finance, members approved the October financial report and several approvals including contributions and donations, supplemental appropriations and ratification of investments.
The board also approved approval of overnight student field trips: one to Columbus in December 2025 and another to Washington, D.C. in May 2026. Human‑resources items approved included certificated and classified confirmations, acceptance of retirements, supplemental contracts and routine personnel changes.
Board members and staff publicly thanked donors and supporters. Superintendent Dr. Hunt noted the Parma Schools Foundation had contributed $1,800 "to be used for transportation of students to connect with our senior center senior citizen centers across our 3 communities." John Schweitzer of the Parma Schools Foundation said the donation "will allow us to get kids, band members, choirs, elementary kids for pen pals" to senior centers and called the gift "a wonderful donation." The board also acknowledged a contribution from American Legion Post 5723.
All motions described on the public agenda were seconded and carried on roll call votes recorded in open session. The board president stated that no votes will be taken during the executive session later in the evening.
The meeting then moved to an executive session for personnel matters; the board’s prior votes on the listed resolutions were recorded in open session and are part of the public record.
