The El Campo Independent School District Board of Trustees set aside time Dec. 17 to recognize students and sponsors from the school's FFA program for success at state competitions.
Board members and presenters introduced sponsors Aaron and Casey Wilson and named student participants including Casey Cherney, Presley Hinkie, Lila Seymour, Hudson and Carson Bistroek, Cameron Coie, Brinley Worensen, Maggie Modell and others. Presenters described the agricultural-issues team's presentations on tariffs and noted the group presented publicly more than 20 times. The junior skills team and other competitors were recognized for advancing to state-level contests and placing in preliminary rounds.
A coach highlighted Zane Wilson's performance in the Greenhand CREED competition: as a freshman he finished tenth in the state after winning at district and area levels. Trustees and attendees congratulated the students and sponsors.
