Commission staff provided a renovation update, saying indoor courts are complete and that playing characteristics will change as surfaces settle. "They'll probably play a little bit slower... it usually takes 6 months to a year," Speaker 5 said, noting that all eight courts were redone and that the result "looks phenomenal."
Staff also said a ball field adjacent to the facility opened for public use with automated lights set to turn off at 10:00 p.m.; parking near the facility is open. Upgrades intended to reduce hazards include new scorecards and side panels that address wear and tripping concerns.
On surveillance, Speaker 6 said the cameras function but cautioned against making IP access public because it would allow outsiders to log in and record conversations. "They do work, but we're not gonna make [the IP] available ... it's just not a good benefit to the cost potential of loss of privacy," Speaker 6 said. Staff said cameras will continue to be used for special events but remote public access will not be opened.
The commission also discussed longer-term master-planning items and possible future expansion in underused park areas, but emphasized that expansion would follow attendance milestones and capital planning.
Follow-up: staff will continue to monitor how renovated surfaces settle over the next 6–12 months, confirm lighting/timing operations, and report any safety issues or needed adjustments back to the commission.
