The board approved a district safety plan presented by the director of safety and security, identified in the transcript as Mr. Hardison. The plan covers fire reunification plans, evacuation procedures, safety teams and required certifications (CPR, CPI) for team members.
Hardison told the board the district must submit updated safety plans to the New Mexico Public Education Department by Dec. 1 to receive credit; the district will revise lists and certificates as needed before the state review. He said staff are also coordinating with the city about a secondary reunification site at the Corps facility because the district cannot use the event center.
A board member moved and a second supported adoption of the safety plan. The board approved the plan by voice vote (motion carries). The presentation and adoption focused on procedural compliance and operational readiness; no amendments were offered during the meeting.
