Project staff told the County Property meeting on Dec. 12 that construction work and procurement timelines for multiple county projects have been scheduled around winter conditions.
A preconstruction meeting for treasurer’s office work has been completed, and treasurer clerical staff will be moved to a temporary lower‑level office to accommodate the project; that mobilization is scheduled to start Jan. 6. Contracts for a previously approved downtown courthouse project are expected to be returned to the county and preconstruction will begin after the new year, with on‑site work starting Feb. 2.
Exterior masonry work is largely complete for now but will pause through winter; crews will return in spring to remove old caulk, replace it, address control joints and complete window‑adjacent work and sign bases. Staff said window replacement orders were bid and approved earlier in the year but manufacturer lead times pushed delivery into spring, which may delay a county decision on whether to proceed with a larger window program in 2025 or 2026.
The jail chiller and air‑conditioning project completed a 50% review and will go on the street for bids on Feb. 12; staff said they coordinated with jail representatives so work will focus on exterior and lower‑level areas to avoid disturbing inmates. The county also plans a two‑pipe to four‑pipe conversion design following the bid posting.
Project staff and technical leads said electrical panel and outlet work for the trial treasurer area is complete and will be used as a pilot to inform broader office upgrades.
