Districtwide career fair set to bring 1,100 seventh graders and 40+ companies together

Rock Hill Schools will hold a districtwide middle-school career fair in two days that organizers said will give seventh graders exposure to career clusters and ATC course options.
Kristen Starchrup, the district lead career counselor, told the board that the event at Rollinson Road will host roughly 1,100 seventh graders, 45 educators, more than 40 companies and about 90 community volunteers. Each middle school will have an approximately 40‑minute window to visit booths grouped by career cluster; ATC classes will bring students and provide student-to-student engagement about classes and pathways.
Starchrup credited transportation staff and community partners for supporting a large busing operation and thanked companies and volunteers. The career fair rotates host schools annually; Sullivan hosted the first fair last year and Castle Heights has volunteered to host next year.
The event is intended to prepare students who soon will choose ninth-grade courses by giving them early exposure to career options and the classes that lead to them.
