The board entered executive session to consider a student transfer appeal. The motion to go into executive session passed on a voice vote (carried 7‑0).
After returning to open session, a trustee moved to agree to an amended appeal to allow the student, with the superintendent’s permission, to enroll immediately for the remainder of the semester and to have student services review the student’s performance before deciding on continuing enrollment for the rest of the year. The motion was seconded and carried by a recorded voice vote of 6‑0 with one recusal; Board Member Melissa Harris recused herself because of a stated conflict of interest.
Board leadership said they will communicate details about a proposed Nov. 11 work session and follow up with parties as needed for future agenda items.
