Transport on time for most routes; district reports device distribution and expanded mental-health supports

Rock Hill School District officials presented a back-to-school operations update Aug. 12 that included transportation punctuality, device distribution, day-treatment programming and mental-health services.
Dr. Connor told trustees that on the first day of school the district ran 719 bus routes and reported 91% of routes were on time for morning arrival and 84% for afternoon arrival. He highlighted the district—us app and said 7,490 parents were registered to track arrival and pickup times.
On technology, Connor said 12,525 devices had been deployed by Aug. 4 and that 3,650 of them were new devices acquired over the summer. He said distribution delays for some grade bands were largely resolved.
Connor described a day-treatment partnership with MUSC that serves students with therapeutic needs; he said program capacity was 20 elementary students and 10 in middle-school classrooms, with academics, clinical services and recreation components operated in the Bellevue Center.
On mental-health services, staff described a team of about 10 therapists serving middle and high schools with partnerships to extend community resources; the district anticipates billing Medicaid for roughly 400 cases this year using its PCG platform.
Connor also previewed a comprehensive behavior-support model and stakeholder advisory committee that will begin meetings Aug. 28 to plan interventions and pilots for implementation later this year.
