Doctor Massey reported the district’s auditor, Carlson, presented a clean audit with improving fund balances and positive results in the general fund, community education and food service funds. Board members praised the finance team and noted the district used one‑time COVID funds only for nonrecurring expenses, avoiding future budget pressures.
Massey also reported that, as of Nov. 1, enrollment was 127 students over the revenue‑budgeted count, a trend he said is stronger than the previous year. "We are currently sitting at, as of November 1, a 127 students over our revenue budgeted number," Massey said.
Communications Director Eddie showed the board an updated annual newsletter and summarized email‑based communications practices for principals and teachers; he recommended families contact schools if they are not receiving district messages, particularly for weather and emergency notifications.
No formal action was taken on the audit beyond receipt and discussion.
