District shows Phase 1 high school renderings; interior work continues and turf installation paused by weather

District facilities staff gave an update on the high school Phase 1 construction and associated signage and athletic-field work. The presenter said contractors are finishing drywall, mudding and painting, installing cabinets, drawers and bookcases, and beginning ceiling-grid work in classrooms; the kitchen freezer is on site awaiting installation. Exterior site work has been paused because of weather.

On athletics, the presenter reported that the baseball turf project is completed and the district conducted a walk-through. Softball outfield installation has started but crews paused work to clear snow; concrete work for the backstop and batting cages is complete. A board member noted contractors were on-site today and that crews are using a cold-weather adhesive formulated for low temperatures.

Bernie and Tara presented paper copies of multiple signage/rendering scenarios for the Phase 1 building; the presenter said there is not yet a final digital file. Board members discussed displaying large poster-board renderings for the public to view in January during events with high foot traffic (orchestra, band, choir, athletics) so community members can follow progress.

What’s next: Staff said they will provide digital renderings when available, pursue poster-board displays for January and resume exterior and turf work as weather permits.
