Finance update: sales tax receipts up; accounting software changes alter statements

Tina, the district finance presenter, gave the board its monthly budget update, reporting that sales tax collections for October were higher than the same time last year by $57,149.

She walked the board through a new packet layout created after an accounting-software upgrade, noting the summary financial statement now shows assets and liabilities on the first page and highlights the percentage of budgeted revenues the district has received. Tina said November revenues had not yet been posted and flagged that expenditures for November were included in the packet.

Board members asked clarifying questions about the new printout; Tina said staff are still learning the upgraded accounting system and that the format will be tweaked again next month. She encouraged board members to call with any questions about the budget materials.
