At its monthly meeting, the Fayetteville School District Board approved multiple agenda items by unanimous votes.
Consent agenda: The board moved to accept the consent agenda, which included minutes, staff changes, a financial report and other routine items. The motion passed 7–0.
Policy 5.09 (school choice): After staff explained updates to align the district policy with newly published DESE rules and the opening of the school‑choice window Jan. 1, the board moved and seconded a motion to approve the revisions to policy 5.09. The motion passed 7–0.
Elementary boundary shifts: The board considered proposed minor adjustments to elementary attendance zones that move a portion of Butterfield to Asbell and a southeast corner of Asbell to Leverett. District staff said the net movement affects about 50 students in each shift and that families had been contacted. The board approved the boundary changes by a 7–0 vote.
Board members recorded no opposing votes and did not attach special conditions to the approvals. Several members commended staff outreach to affected families and the thoroughness of documentation in the consent packet.
