The Long Beach City Council voted Dec. 16 to reappoint Emily Holman to the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District Board of Trustees for a four-year term starting Jan. 5, 2026.

Councilmember Supernaugh moved the item and Councilwoman Kerr seconded. Supernaugh summarized Holman’s qualifications: she has represented Long Beach on the board since 2017, is trained as an epidemiologist, previously served as the city’s communicable disease controller, and worked on outbreak response at the Centers for Disease Control during the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted Holman’s ongoing academic work pursuing a doctorate addressing local dengue transmission.

The council approved the nomination by roll-call vote; no public speakers opposed the reappointment.
