Kenai — The Kenai City Council on Nov. 19 enacted Ordinance 3493-2025, which increases estimated revenues and appropriations in the general fund for replacement of the cooling system at the city’s data center.
At the public hearing, Vice Mayor Askin moved to amend the third whereas clause to change the cited amount from $20,000 to $25,000; the council granted unanimous consent to the amendment and then enacted the ordinance as amended. The clerk recorded seven yes votes.
No members of the public spoke on the ordinance at the meeting. City staff noted there was a laydown packet with an amendment and that the change reflected updated cost estimates.
Next steps: Staff will execute the procurement/purchase process and implement the replacement; the amended ordinance authorizes the updated appropriation amount.
