San Benito LAFCO recorded three procedural votes on Dec. 11, each passing unanimously by roll call.
The commission approved an amended set of minutes from the Nov. 13 meeting after a commissioner raised an inaccuracy in how a previous nomination vote had been recorded; the amendment notes the prior vote was 3–1 with Leslie Jordan opposed. The amended minutes passed on a 5–0 roll-call vote.
The commission then considered Item 5.2, three draft contracts for clerking and hosting services proposed by San Benito County, the City of Hollister and the City of San Juan Bautista. Executive Officer Jennifer said legal counsel had reviewed minor, agency-specific edits and recommended approving all three contracts, emphasizing Hollister’s contract should be finalized because meetings will be hosted there starting in January. The motion to approve the contracts and authorize the executive officer to sign passed 5–0.
Finally, the commission adopted the proposed 2026 regular meeting schedule after staff presented the dates; the motion carried 5–0 by roll call.
Summary of roll-call outcomes:
- Approve amended Nov. 13 minutes: vote recorded as 5–0 (Commissioners Kozmicki, Zenger, Stevens, Mello, Sabathia voted yes).
- Approve clerking and hosting contracts and authorize executive officer to sign: 5–0 (same recorded votes).
- Approve regular 2026 meeting schedule: 5–0 (same recorded votes).
No public comment was offered on these items during the meeting. The approved contracts will enable the county and hosting cities to provide clerking, agenda distribution and meeting space services beginning in January where noted.
