Glynn County opens bids for Millennium Boulevard drainage project; 10 proposals filed

Nikki Thompson, procurement analyst for Glynn County, opened a public bid opening for IFB 20-6-017, the Millennium Boulevard drainage improvement project, and announced that the county received 10 bids. "Bid openings are publicly held events that are open to the public and stream live on the county's YouTube channel," Thompson said during the livestream.
Thompson read each bidder and their submitted total. The bids announced (company — submitted total) were: Allen Owens Construction and Paving Incorporated (Blackshear, Ga.) — $1,153,990.68; Barksdale Tracking and Supply (Sandersville, Ga.) — $1,113,392.50; DUSCOM Limited (Garden City, Ga.) — $989,397.50; Gulfstream Constructing Company Incorporated (Charleston, S.C.) — $899,999.97; JW Oliver Construction Incorporated (Jessup, Ga.) — $969,446.00; Reeve's Construction Company (Duncan, S.C.) — $1,128,672.22; SEC Site Work (Bristol, Ga.) — $771,470.00; TriScapes LLC (location redacted) — $2,140,250.21; Underground Excavating Incorporated (Paterson, Ga.) — $833,707.00; and Woodard Construction (Waycross, Ga.) — $1,750,796.00.
Thompson cautioned that the lowest submitted bid may not be the recommended award: "Please keep in mind that the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee when the bid review process is complete," she said, noting that county staff and the project manager will review paperwork for accuracy and completeness. She added a bid tabulation sheet will be posted to the county website when available and that any recommended award will be presented first to the finance committee and then to the full board of commissioners at a future monthly meeting.
The bid opening record indicated 10 proposals were received; no award, motion, or vote occurred during the livestream. The county will post the formal tabulation and next steps after staff review.
