Council approves minutes, accepts Barrington Lake utilities and signs off on claims

Lafayette City moved through routine administrative business Tuesday, approving last week’s minutes, accepting completed utility infrastructure for Barrington Lake Subdivision Section 3 and approving claims presented by the comptroller’s office.
The council voted to accept sanitary sewer and water mains for Barrington Lake Subdivision Section 3 after Dave Griffey of the city engineering department said the work is complete and recommended acceptance; Griffey described the parcel as the final section of Barrington Lakes and said it consists of 119 lots.
The comptroller’s office presented claims totaling $2,062,861.99, which the council approved by voice vote. During the financial update staff noted the final payment on a Huntington Bank equipment lease had been made.
Council members also acknowledged a walk-in taxicab permit that was not on the agenda and agreed to have the applicant present next week before action. The chair then adjourned the meeting.
