The Fresh Start program provides up to 12 months of rental assistance for low-income survivors of domestic violence and their children after they exit the YWCA’s shelter; the YWCA’s DVIP case manager provides direct case management and supports housing stability with an option to transition participants to housing-choice vouchers at the end of the assistance period.
A board member asked about timing and whether 2023 funds had been fully used; staff confirmed the final 2023-funded client was identified, allowing 2024 funding to proceed. The board moved, seconded and approved the agreement by voice vote.
