Recreation staff announce Frosty Snow Fest and Operation Santa Claus volunteer dates

Recreation staff briefed the Daly City Recreation Commission on upcoming holiday events and volunteer opportunities.
Staff said Frosty Snow Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ceremony Center. The free family event will include a real snow play area, inflatables, cookie decorating, hot cocoa, arts-and-crafts, face painting and special guests. Staff advised attendees to arrive early; the event often fills quickly.
Staff also described Operation Santa Claus, a volunteer-driven program that, staff said, serves over 300 families and about 650 youth ages 0–14. Packing of donations is scheduled for Dec. 14 and delivery to families will occur Dec. 16 at Station 94 (Gellert Station); volunteers may sign up by emailing operationssantaclaus@dalycity.org. Staff credited heavy volunteer support from Daly City firefighters and police officers for the program’s operations.
The commission accepted the announcements and several members expressed interest in volunteering.
