At the start of public comment during the Dec. 9 special meeting, a volunteer who identified herself as Pallivi with the Art of Living Foundation requested that the City Council adopt a proclamation recognizing Dec. 21 as World Meditation Day in San Ramon and asked the city to promote a free, community World Meditation Event at the Front Row Theater from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pallivi said the Art of Living Foundation operates internationally and described meditation as an evidence-based, low-cost tool to support emotional resilience and community well-being. She asked for the proclamation and for the city to list the event in the city newsletter, community calendar and social media channels.
Council members had no questions beyond confirming the event time and location. The transcript records that a proclamation request was submitted, but no council action on the proclamation was taken during the meeting.
